This page has a list of some haikus I've written over the years.
Hope you enjoy!

Flies

Flies

An annoyance, oh
How you hover close and low
In this post-noon heat.

Grey Herons

Grey Herons

From the roof above
Two herons glide down to earth,
Grey clouds on the wind.

Kookaburra

Kookaburra

Warble jolly man,
You laugh perched high in gum trees,
To have joy like you.

Written 2024.

Kookaburra

Noisy Miner

In quick succession
Do you chirp to the daylight,
Nature’s metronome.

The Valley  #2

The Valley  #2

The valley cries green,
Steaming tea joins misty hills.
Here, I am wealthy.

Notes

The Valley [2024] was written in two versions. Originally as a sijo and then edited as a haiku.
It was an experiment to figure out how I can express the same image with different constraints.
It was inspired by the valley my grandparents live in west of Sydney, between Wollomi and Yengo National Park.
