Nothing so obtuse as blood lines or genetics,

The wood, the stone, the grief, the ecstasy,
Quilted to a future idyllic,
My life is full of homes I’ve made,
Abundant in every step conveyed.

L’Avenir [2024] is an ottava rima for myself, about the life I have and the life I will lead.

“L’Avenir” means the future in French.
